 Invitation, Not Accusation

October 18, 2025

We don’t invite people into the love of God by telling them they are wrong. We invite them by first being willing to see their side, just as deeply as we hope they’ll try to see ours. Grace is never one-sided.

Jesus Himself modeled this again and again. He didn’t begin His conversations with accusation but with invitation. He ate with tax collectors and sinners (Luke 5:30–32), spoke gently with the woman at the well (John 4:7–26), and offered mercy before correction to the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1–11). In every encounter, He looked into the person before He looked at their sin.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged” (Matthew 7:1–2). These words remind us that our mission is not to condemn but to embody the radical love that draws hearts home.

God created the whole world — not just the one we imagine would be perfect. And in Christ, we are called to see the world through His eyes: a field ripe for harvest (John 4:35), not a courtroom awaiting a verdict.

When we choose empathy over argument, when we listen before we lecture, and when we lead with love rather than fear, we participate in the very heart of the gospel. For “it is God’s kindness that leads you to repentance” (Romans 2:4), and that same kindness is meant to flow through us.

🌿 Mercy Is Not Gated

Mercy is not locked behind walls, reserved only for the deserving — it flows freely from the heart of God. Yet mercy often arrives wrapped in discomfort. It can feel like agitation — the holy stirring that precedes breakthrough.

When agitation rises within you, do not run from it. Instead, drop to your knees. Embrace yourself with compassion. Retreat into the quiet and seek the solace of the Father. There, in the stillness, He will reveal the next step. Mercy is a gift. It is a blessing. It is the gentle hand that lifts you up when you have no strength to rise.

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

🙏 Prayer

Father, teach me the way of mercy. When I am tempted to judge, soften my heart. When agitation stirs, help me see it as Your invitation to grow. Remind me that Your Kingdom is not a fortress but a table — and there is room for everyone. Fill me with Your kindness, that I may carry it into every conversation and every encounter. Let my life be a living invitation to Your love.

Amen.
